What Is Electronic Transmission of a Vote by Mail Ballot?
(Important Note: If you fax your voted ballot you will be voluntarily waiving your right to a secret ballot.)
Only if you are a registered overseas voter, may you have a vote by mail ballot faxed or e-mailed to you, in lieu of receiving it by regular mail. If you are requesting a ballot be faxed or e-mailed to you the request must contain:
Voter's Name
Registration address (for ballot style)
Date of Birth
Overseas mailing address
Signature ( faxed requests only)
A request for a faxed or e-mailed ballot is good only for the current election. The ballot can only be faxed or mailed back. Voted ballots returned by e-mail will not be counted.
Instructions for voting and returning the ballot will be included with the ballot. The vote by mail ballot must be returned by fax or mail so that it is received no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day.
