Letter from Supervisor Baird

December 2022

Christmas is almost upon us, and the New year will be here in a few weeks. With a grateful heart, I'm thankful for our community. Our election year went beautifully.

The Poll Workers put in endless hours of training, dedication and hard work.

My staff organized each of their departments with the professionalism and dedication it takes to run excellent elections. They work endless hours to ensure our elections are secure, fair and honest.

Our in-office part-time staff showed amazing resilience as they partnered with us and our crazy election schedule.

The General Election Results were reported by 7:37pm on election night.

As I reflect over this election cycle, it's a reminder of how well elections do work and how it is such an honor to part of an amazing process.

Last week we met with our Secretary of State, Division of Elections, fellow Supervisor of Elections and staff in preparation for the 2024 election cycle.

Our outreach calendar is off to a great start. We will be heading into our schools soon for voter registration and voter education.

There is always something amazing to do in elections! Thank you to our voters for your commitment to get out and vote! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Maureen Baird

Secretary of State Visit

The new Secretary of State, Cord Byrd, visited our office in October. Secretary Byrd toured the facility, met the staff and had the opportunity to speak with our poll workers. We look forward to a strong partnership and a shared commitment to secure, accurate, and fair elections.

Thank you for visiting!

Thank You Election Workers!

We would like to take a moment and thank all of our dedicated election workers who are vital to the success of Citrus County elections. They work tirelessly ensuring early vote sites and polling places are set-up properly and elections are conducted according to the Florida Statutes. They are such an vital and important part of the elections process. We appreciate each and every one of you!

Thank you for a job well done in 2022!

Welcome Sandra Hiar

We would like to welcome our newest member of the team, Sandra Hiar. She is joining us as our new IT Support Specialist. We are very excited to welcome Sandy to the VoteCitrus Team!

Planning to Vote-by-Mail in 2024?

Due to state legislative changes, Vote-by-Mail Requests now expire after each General Election. If you want to vote by mail in the 2024 elections, you must submit a new Vote-by-Mail Request. In 2023, you may visit votecitrus.gov to request your ballot using the "REQUEST A VOTE BY MAIL" tab or by using the "REQUEST VBM BALLOT" button below. We will also be sending out reminders to all registered voters via the US Postal Service in late 2023.

Voter Outreach

Outreach and the Community

In 2022, we held 61 Outreach and Voter Education events throughout Citrus County. These events raise voter awareness, provide opportunities for the public to learn about the elections process, and are a convenient way to register to vote or update your voter information. We had a total of 1853 visitors at our events this year.

Thank you, Citrus County for your Support!
