Voter Outreach & Education


The goal of the voter outreach and education department is to provide opportunities for the public to learn about the election process, voter registration and voter’s rights and responsibilities.  Below is a list of services sponsored by the Supervisor of Elections office to help achieve our goal of Community Outreach and Education.  Contact the Elections Office at 352-564-7120 or Email if you would like to request any of the services below. 

Request a Speaker – A representative from the elections office will speak to your club or organization about the election process.  We can customize a program to fit your needs. 

Invite The Elections Office To Your Event - A representative from the Supervisor of Elections office will set up a registration/information booth at your next event.    

Tour the Elections Office – Arrange for yourself or a group to take a guided tour of the Supervisor of Elections office.    

Community Partnerships – We need your help getting nonpartisan election related information out to Citrus County Citizens.  Contact the elections office to find out about volunteer opportunities.  


The overall goal of the school education program is to introduce and familiarize students with voter registration and voting procedures.  Students are encouraged to exercise their right to vote once they become eligible.  Below is a list of services sponsored by the Supervisor of Elections office to help achieve our school education goal.  Contact our office at 352-564-7120 if you would like to request any of the services below. 

Sunshine State Young Readers Award Program – Participating schools vote on their favorite book using actual election tabulation equipment. 

Student Government Elections – Participating schools vote on the candidate of their choice using actual election tabulation equipment.   

Voter Registration/Education  Program –  Twice a year election staff present a voter education program to area high schools, College of Central Florida and Withlacoochee Technical Institute. Students are registered or pre-registered to vote.   

Student Forum – The Supervisor of Elections hosts a student-only forum.  Students are encouraged to participate and ask questions of candidates.  This event occurs prior to the general election. 

Kids Voting Tampa Bay –  This program is a community partnership with a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and combines civic learning in the classroom with hands-on voting experience.  This program occurs prior to the general election.   

Community Service Opportunities – Do you need to earn community service hours?  Contact the Supervisor of Elections office to find out how you can be a part of the election process.  

Scholarship Hours  – Students can earn scholarship hours by volunteering with the Supervisor of Elections office.
